This is a 10-week assignment for students pursuing a college degree. Assignments are directly related to intern's academic degree. Under direct supervision, performs duties as assigned. Student participates in a number of organized events providing visibility into the overall operations of FedEx.
Full-time internship opportunity available in the Harrison, AR area from June 2015 to August 2015.
Responsibilities may include:
Work on the analysis of specific business metrics; research and analysis of data, industry trends, and market information to gain insight to transportation and logistics metrics in identified industry verticals
Conduct analysis related to global revenue optimization and demand forecasting
Perform analysis and provide recommendations on data extraction and use in the FedEx costing methodologies
Extract and analyze data as well as forecast revenue and volume trends
Perform data mining and analysis on FedEx Express transportation network
The following are considered a plus:
Enrollment in a graduate level degree program in Business, Finance/Economics, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Operations Management, Operations Research, Supply Chain/Logistics, Transportation, Economics, Engineering, Math, Marketing, or related major
Ideally, plans to graduate within 12 months of completing the internship and begin full-time employment
Experience in analytical/quantitative business, operations, economics, or engineering along with experience in project management, data mining, forecasting, SQL, SAS, Java, C/C++, HTML web design, advanced Excel (PivotTables, vlookup, VBA), and/or
Resume should include the following information:

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
